The past few weeks have been a very busy and exciting time for RTC-ON. Our first week away was spent in beautiful Las Vegas where we had our 2017 training camp. We worked hard training 6 hours a day with many many run-thrus. All of the athletes and coaches were very happy with the improvements we made, and team work that resulted from the hours of practice at Summerlin pool.
During our day off in Nevada, our group of 15 athletes bonded and spent many enjoyable hours touring both the natural beauty and the bright lights on the famous Vegas strip. We had time to relax by the pool and hot tub at our estate. The highlight the trip definitely had to be seeing the amazing Cirque show, La Reve! This is a must see for any synchro team visiting Vegas! We also had the pleasure of visiting the theatre during the synchro acts rehearsal. It was really cool to meet some of the athletes and see what happens behind the scenes of the magical show!
As we headed to Quebec City for National Qualifier, RTC-ON was feeling prepared and ready for week two! We settled into Laval U residences- our home for the next week. With time little time to rest we were back at the pool early Monday morning for training. The week flew by as we competed in many events in both the Junior and Senior categories. Qualifier definitely ended on a high note, with many podium finishes and happy coaches and athletes.
The two weeks away would not have been possible without the amazing support of our coaches and chaperones, so THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible!!
After a few days of rest, RTC-ON is ready to get back to the grind in preparation for the Canadian Open 2017!
